Dear Panel,
I am 24-years-old. I have been dating
my boyfriend for about a year.
Before dating, we were great friends for
about a year. I consider him my best friend in the whole
wide world. My boyfriend is 25. He is the most supportive,
motivating, nurturing person I have ever met. He inspires
me to be a better person and constantly boosts my esteem.
He's The Perfect Guy
Since we have dated I am more confident
about who I am and have never been more secure in a
relationship. He values his family the most in his life
and he is eager to marry and spend the rest of his life
with me. We have common interests and enjoy each other's
sense of humor more than anything.
I'm Not Physically Attracted To Him
I have never been very attracted to him
physically. He makes up for it in so many other ways
so I always tried to look beyond it. I got involved
and stayed with him because I really thought I would
just get over it. After a year and a half since it is
still on my mind. I am in a bind about what to do.
He's Even A Good Lover
It's so hard because he has so much to
offer, and he really is a great catch. What I don't
like about his looks is something he can't change. Because
of the fact I am not drawn to him physically, I feel
less passionate for him and less desire for him sexually.
Although, he is actually a very good lover and does
nothing but try to please me.
I know attraction is important, but it
also isn't everything, where do I draw the line? In
10 years will this still bother me or will I be over
it? Should I dump him over this? Do I break up with
a great guy if I'm not attracted physically?
