Patience and friendship are imperative in a relationship.
Dear T-dub,
Patience
The key to a successful relationship is patience. It is a true
virtue.
There is a poem with one line that says, "Let our vegetable
love grow, " meaning let things progress slowly. With time
things change and the relationship ripens. You cannot expect love
to happen overnight. That's a fantasy. We'll leave the fairy tales
to "A Wedding Story."
Getting Along After the Honeymoon
When the honeymoon is over in the relationship (usually the first
couple of months into a new relationship when everything is blissfully
great) the relationship is faced with a test of time. If the people
in the relationship enjoy spending time with each other and get
along long after the "honeymoon" is over, then that is
a great start to a good relationship.
Friendship
Building a strong friendship with your significant other is a beautiful
thing. Not only can that person be your boyfriend or girlfriend,
but that person can be your friend as well. I believe that is truly
important in a relationship.
Trust and understanding are obviously "must haves" in
a relationship, so I'm not going to go on about it.
