Linda responds to Rick

A relationship takes work. Hard work.

Rick

Do I get overtime for "working" on my girlfriend?

I think you miss a big point. Being in a relationship takes work. A lot of hard work. That's one of the secrets you never get told by the media, the fairy tales, etc.

Things and People Change

After the honeymoon period comes a great deal of work. Things change, people change. The commitment you make is in large part a commitment to WORK together to keep the relationship alive and good.

I suppose it's time to break up if you can't or aren't willing to do the work (or if you're in physical danger). But if you wimp out, think hard before you commit to anyone else. Maintaining a relationship is the hardest work you'll ever do. But it's worth it.
