Dear "In a Mess",
Well, to me it sounds like you can do a lot better than this guy!
You're young! Go out and have some fun!!
And how many times have you heard that from people that you ask
what you should do? Probably a million and one. I speak from experience
when I answer this question. My last boyfriend was 7 years my senior.
I met him when I was 18 and he was 25. Here's what I believe:
You Don't Trust Him
First, I am not feeling that there is a lot of trust in this relationship.
If there was would you be checking his phone? And why would he respond
to your questions by telling you that he has slept with these girls???
I know I wouldn't want to hear that!
Flirting at Work
Some other things that bother me (and I also speak from experience
on these notes) is that you say you are working with him and you
catch him flirting with other girls there. That is a very tricky
situation. I know I would catch my ex flirting with other girls
at work (we worked together...different guy from the other ex) and
there was hell to be had!! So I know how frustrating that can be.
Here's the bright side. You are heading off to college where there's
a whole new world of guys that don't know you (ahh the air of mystery)
and would like to get to know you.
He's Looking for Young Girls
I believe you are wasting your time with this loser. It sounds
like he is just looking for the next pretty young girl (why are
they all young? You say that he flirts with girls that are younger
than you! Doesn't that BOTHER you???)
I say cut your losses and your ties with him. It might be tricky
because you do work with him, but do you really want to waste these
3 months on this loser? I know I wouldn't.
