You Don't Talk to Each Other Enough

Or it might be that she only lets HIM do the calling. SHE should pick up the phone and call.

The problem seems to be pretty self evident; you don't talk to each other (or at least at the critical times).

For that span of two years (or whatever it was) someone should have called the other.

More importantly, after you have seen each other most recently, you were probably both waiting for the other to call in fear that if you were the first to call you'd look desperate or over-eager.

At Least Get Closure

As you were so sure you liked him and that he liked you, such fears should have been dispensed with. If it was a fling, I think you should call and know about it to at least have some closure. If it wasn't, you'll finally have a chance at some forward motion with this guy.

Try to keep the lines of communications open or else you'll be waiting years again before you know it.
