You Have the Wrong Notion of Family

I think that you have the wrong notion of what a family is. A family isn't two people who made a baby. A family are people who love and respect each other no matter what happens.

He Sued You

You seem to think that because he is the father of your child that you have to be together. I don't doubt that you love him but let's face reality – he sued you! And you said that it was because of his mother?!? Someone who isn't willing to stand up for what's right – regardless of who they're fighting – should't be respected.

His Mom Will Try Harder

So now that everything is over and you won – fine. But what makes you think that his mother will stop butting in your life?!? Given the circumstance, I think she will try even harder to get what she wants. Are you willing to fight someone like that for the rest of your life?!? And unfortunately, for most "Mama's boys" the mother never really goes away.

Mama's Boy Can't Be a Good Father

The problem isn't how you become a family – the problem is your boyfriend. He can't even stand up to his mother – how can he be a good father?!? I realize you love him but will he be a good father?!? What is in the best interest of your child?!? She is the one you should be thinking about first and foremost.

Make Him Move in with You

Move in with her? Don't complicate things.

You have gone through a terrible ordeal. And you overcame it. Now just look forward. If your boyfriend is as serious as he says than make sure he proves it. You all need a fresh start. Make him move out of his home and in with you.

Regardless of where you live as long as he isn't in the influence of his mother, then hopefully things will be okay.
Whatever you do – make sure your daughter's needs are taken care of. And as long as it is – you can never go wrong.
